2009-2010 Yamaha FZ6R Lowering Links

Like all Roaring Toyz products, the FZ6R Lowering Links are machined in house at the RT Sarasota, Florida headquarters from the finest grade 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum. Why does this matter to you? Because any time you tamper with the structure of your motorcycle you need to be sure you are using high quality parts that won’t fail. There are cheaper lowering links available, but imagine launching your newly lowered FZ6R only to have those lowering links break? The cost of that failure could be extreme, and the money you save on purchasing cheaper parts will be spent hundreds of times over fixing your bike, and possibly fixing yourself.

Our lowering links have been rigorously tested in house by Roaring Toyz engineers, and are proven to hold up under the most rigorous conditions including the most aggressive street, strip and track riding. Our links are designed for a perfect fit to the tightest of tolerances to work perfect on your bike.

Our Roaring Toyz FZ6R Lowering Links are the safest way to lower your FZ6R for better take offs, or to accommodate a shorter inseam. Our rear end link allows for a drop of 1.75″ from stock, measured from the rear axle straight up. It’s important to note that when lowering any bike we suggest lowering the front and rear of the bike an even amount. On the Yamaha FZ6R we suggest sliding the forks up in the trees 1.25″. When lowered evenly the bike will require the kickstand to be shorter to ensure the bike to sit sturdily and looks more attractive.

Custom 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero

Stock Kawasaki Vaquero

Robert Fisher from Roaring Toyz has been in motorcycle business for years and has done everything from racing his own bikes to building custom sportbikes. Coming from a racing background Robert has always strived to create custom bikes that not only look great but also are extremely rideable. As time rolled on and his customer base expanded, Robert started to become more interested in cruisers — and when Kawasaki launched the new Vaquero Cruiser at their Dealer Meeting, Robert’s interest in cruisers really peaked. Featuring a 1700 twin cylinder in a custom muscular chassis, Robert saw huge customizing potential in the Vaquero. After some discussions with his team, building a custom Vaquero became the perfect catalyst to launch a new division of his company offering custom parts for the cruiser market: Roaring Twinz.

Before long a brand new Vaquero arrived in at the Roaring Twinz shop in Sarasota Florida with instructions from Kawasaki to have it customized and ready to display at Daytona Bike Week in less than 14 days. Customizing a bike isn’t exactly a quick project, especially when dealing with a brand new bike where all custom parts need to be created from scratch. Robert and his crew of technicians saw the Vaquero project as a great challenge and pulled out all the stops to build it into an amazingly cool bike in just two weeks. Roaring Twinz had a vision for the bike which included fitting a larger 21” front wheel to amplify an already very attractive bike. They also needed to add a whole slew of custom parts, a custom paintjob, airbag suspension and a killer stereo system. All of this using parts that didn’t exist and a deadline that was ambitious to say the least.

With many years in the customizing business, Robert has formed great relationships with other manufacturers of custom bike parts so he got on the phone to get help pulling this whole project together. The first order of business was to find a custom 21” front wheel that would serve as the centerpiece of this custom bike. The team at Performance Machine came through with a set of their new Paramount Platinum Cut 21” Front Wheels and Matching front brake rotors. But, being that there are no fitments for this new bike, Roaring Twinz had to machine a set of Harley hubs and wheels spacers to fit wheel to the Vaquero. They also machined fender spacers to space the stock front fender up to fit the bike.

Performance Machine (PM) also provided a set of black anodized Floor Boards, but again these had to be modified with custom brackets to fit on the Vaquero. Performance Machine also makes a really cool air cleaner assembly so Roaring Toyz machined a backing plate to fit it for the Vaquero. Not only did the intake look great, but it showed a power increase of 8.5 HP on the dyno as the additional air flow helped lean out an already rich fuel curve.

With the bike now rolling on custom PM wheels, Roaring Twinz went to work on the suspension to lower the bike. For this they turned to their friends a Progressive Suspension and ordered a front fork lowering kit and an Air Dragger rear suspension kit. Roaring Twinz had to made a couple modifications for a proper fit and ended up getting a nice low and mean set-up.

Next, the Roaring Twinz crew went to work on getting a custom handlebar set-up. For this they got a set of Burly Brand 13” Bagger Bars. To make them fit they needed some form of handlebar risers and luckily they found a really trick handlebar riser from Roland Sands Design (RSD) that fit great and looked awesome. With the bars higher than stock the switch wires needed to be longer, so the wires were extended and run internally through the bars for a cleaner look. Extended Roaring Toyz Stainless Steel braided brake and clutch lines were made up and wrapped with neon green sheathing. The new handlebar set-up was finished off with a set of Performance Machine black anodized grips and custom machined brake and clutch levers.

Now that the bike had a great foundation it needed some great sound. Bagger bikes have so much room for stereo equipment that the combinations are nearly endless. The final build features a set of 8” three way speakers installed in the rear bags along with a 400 watt JL Audio marine amplifier and a set of JL Audio 5.25” speakers on the dash. An iPod feeds the system with tunes and it’s all controlled through a Kawasaki accessory switch mounted on the left handlebar.

The bike needed a custom paintjob to finish it off and since it’s a Kawasaki Roaring Twinz opted for some Kawasaki green. The bike was painted with custom coat of Candy Lime Green along with some black and grey highlights to break it up. The end result is a spectacular looking bike that’s sure to turn the heads of both sportibke and cruiser riders.

Amazingly, Robert and his team at Roaring Twinz were able to get the custom Vaquero finished in an incredibly short timeframe and debuted at Daytona Bike Week. Most of the riders at Bike Week hadn’t even seen a Vaquero yet, much less a fully customized Vaquero so the bike was a big hit. In the process of creating this custom Vaquero, Roaring Twinz collected dimensions and prototyped parts for the bike that are now in production and available as bolt on modifications to Vaquero owners. Robert is now going full steam ahead with Roaring Twinz and this Vaquero definitely won’t be the last custom Twin to emerge from his Florida shop.

Roaring Toyz exclusive Outside Drive Swingarm Kit is now available for the Suzuki GSXR 1000 Model with kits available for 01-02, 03-04, 05-06 and 07-08 bikes. The O.S.D. is the best wide tire technology available for wide tire kits. 2011 Kawasaki Customs: ZX-10, Ninja 1000, Z-1000 and Vaquero

Sarasota, FL – When Roaring Toyz and Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. team up you can be certain the results will be ground breaking. Robert Fisher, owner and founder of Roaring Toyz, is pleased to announce an exciting new project with Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. that involves the complete customization of four of Kawasaki’s newest, most exciting 2011 models; the Ninja® ZX-10R, the Ninja 1000, the Z1000 and the Vulcan® 1700 Vaquero™.

Fisher has enjoyed a long and exciting relationship with Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., commencing with the first ever customized 2006 Ninja ZX-14, but this is the biggest venture Fisher has ever taken on with the premier Japanese manufacturer.  “We’ve done some incredible builds with Kawasaki in the past, but this is by far the most expansive and exciting” commented Fisher.

Customizing the four new Kawasaki models is only the first step in a major promotional program explains Fisher. “This program has three key elements; transforming these motorcycles into gorgeous custom creations that showcase all the possibilities of a custom Kawasaki, documenting the build-up process step by step and sharing this content with consumers on the Roaring Toyz website, Facebook page and our new blog, and touring this bikes around the country so people can see them in person.”

Fisher will be working with additional partners during the customization process to show off the variety of parts and accessories currently available for Kawasaki sportbikes and cruisers. To start each Kawasaki will be fitted with a Vance and Hines exhaust, Performance Machine wheels and accessories, and Progressive Suspension components. Fisher will add on more partners as the project progresses.

As always, Fisher will also design, develop and test a variety of new Roaring Toyz parts for the motorcycles. Fully equipped to machine parts in house, Fisher uses only top grade 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum and spends months testing and engineering his parts on racebikes and turbo bikes to ensure each part features uncompromising strength, performance and durability.

Fisher is delighted by the arrival of the Vulcan 1700 Vaquero. “I requested a Vaquero for a good reason. Roaring Toyz will always be North America’s first choice for custom sportbike parts and builds, but I am itching to diversify a little and try something new. Expansion is coming, and it’s going to bring exciting options to our current and future customers.”

Once complete, the newly decked out Kawasakis will be loaded into the Roaring Toyz rig, which includes an impressive forty foot glass trailer, and will hit the road for a national tour. First stop is Daytona Bike Week where Fisher will debut the fully customized Vulcan 1700 Vaquero. Fisher will also be on hand to showcase his incredible builds at Atlantic Beach Bike Fest in South Carolina May 27 – 29th and at the MotoGP Indianapolis, August 26 – 29th. Additional locations and dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Roaring Toyz to Sponsor the 2012 PRO Convention

Sarasota, FL – Robert Fisher, Owner and Founder of Roaring Toyz is very proud to announce his sponsorship of the 9th Annual 2012 PRO Convention, USA being held in Atlanta, GA from January 5 to January 8, 2012. The most prominent custom sportbike builder and manufacturer of custom sportbike parts in North America, Roaring Toyz has been heavily vested in the club community for over a decade.

Fisher could barely contain his enthusiasm over this new relationship: “For me this was an easy decision. I have been working with club members for years, customizing their bikes and manufacturing top quality, carefully engineered parts for their motorcycles. The 2011 PRO Convention blew my mind. It was well organized, well run, informative and quite frankly packed! I have major respect for the PRO Convention committee members, and their overall goals and objectives, and the least I could do was step in and sponsor their incredible efforts!”

“I am so pleased that Roaring Toyz is a 2012 PRO Convention, USA sponsor.  Roaring Toyz has demonstrated they are a company that shares in helping in the success and growth of the PRO Convention, USA” explained Ladie, PROC USA Committee member. “The PRO Convention is entering its 9th year.  With that comes hard work and dedication to continue to push forward. Having the support of a prominent motorcycle builder and manufacturer like Roaring Toyz means a lot, and I want to thank Robert for being a part of the PRO Convention team.”

One of Fisher’s goals is to work with PRO Convention members to better understand safety and customization. “I’ve spend over ten years testing and engineering parts on racebikes and turbo bikes to ensure each part features uncompromising strength, performance and durability” explained Fisher. “It breaks my heart to see riders purchasing poorly engineered parts made from sub grade material just to save money. I understand the economy makes spending money difficult, but you can’t put a price tag on your life. Cheap equals inferior, inferior means failure, and when you’re talking about parts like swingarm extensions, failure can have catastrophic results. I am not saying buy my parts, but I am saying if you can’t afford the best parts, don’t buy anything.”

As part of their sponsorship commitment, Roaring Toyz will be offering PRO Convention members a variety of exclusive discounts, and offers, as well as providing product for a variety of PRO Convention organized give aways and incentives.

BMW S1000RR Bolt On Swingarm Extensions

Make your BMW S100RR a little longer, a little leaner, and a little meaner with Roaring Toyz Bolt On Swingarm Extensions.  Roaring Toyz Swingarm extensions enable you to extend your swingarm 2-7” over the stock wheelbase.

Roaring Toyz parts are machined in house in Sarasota, Florida using top grade 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum. Owner Rober Fisher has spent ten years testing and engineering Roaring Toyz parts on racebikes and turbo bikes to ensure each part features uncompromising strength, performance and durability.

When purchasing swingarm extensions it is critical to realize this is a major chassis component; cheaper products are available, but they cost less for a reason. Poor quality material and sloppy engineering will result in failure, and failure on the track or highway can have horrifying results. Roaring Toyz parts cost a little more because they have been carefully engineered and tested, and are crafted from the best material available so you can have complete trust in our product.

Our same extensions run exclusively on Ricky Gadson’s Drag Race School Motorcycles; at 200 mph you can guarantee that Rickey expects his parts to perform. Roaring Toyz BMW S1000RR Bolt On Swingarm Extensions come with billet brake caliper hanger and are designed to work with the factory ABS and Traction Control Parts.

Why O.S.D.? (Outside Drive)

“Motorcycles are made to be ridden and ridden hard. We make the parts so you can do that. Same goes with the bikes we build, we want the customer to ride them, not drag them around inside of a trailer!” exclaimed Robert Fisher, Founder of Roaring Toyz.

That statement pretty much explains why O.S.D. or Outside Drive has become one of the most innovative products that Roaring Toyz has to offer. With 15 years of AMA road racing experience, Robert Fisher always has handling and longevity in the back of his mind. You can’t win the race if the parts don’t hold up.

What has that got to do with stretched out, slammed to the ground, phat tire custom sportbikes? Everything…but it is still a mater of choice on why you built that one of a kind custom bike. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a place for Jackshaft swingarms running 330-360 tires. It is about the only choice you have if you really want to go BIG.
You just have to remember the nature of the beast, the bigger tire you go, the more weight you are going to have and the handling characteristics are going out the window.

O.S.D. has really been around for about 35 years in the drag racing world. It was the only way to accommodate the big car tire bikes without adding a lot of weight. Roaring Toyz took the idea and refined it as they do with everything at the shop. It still goes back to the opening statement, “Motorcycles are made to be ridden and ridden hard”.

You may not have ever ridden a big tire bike utilizing the jackshaft swingarm, so let me enlighten you with some facts.

  • Jackshaft swingarms use 2 chains to get the power to the rear sprocket.
  • The first chain is very short and has little slack in it. The chain gets very hot.
  • The jackshaft has 2 sprockets on it that are always under extreme pressure and tension.
  • You will be changing jackshafts and bearings if you ride the bike hard and long.
  • Another characteristic is throttle control. On and off the throttle can seem like you are     pulling a trailer or someone just threw out the boat anchor when you come to a stop light.
  • Jackshaft swingarms are heavy. Let’s just say it, big tire jackshaft bikes for cruising up and down Main Street, but I wouldn’t take them on a long trip! It’s all about choice though because they are about as badass as they come!

When you talk to Robert Fisher about O.S.D., he gets a glimmer in his eye and starts talking about it likes it a brand new baby boy that just came into his family…he is proud of it. It has taken a lot of R&D, trial and error and watching the little details that has made this such a great product. He just doesn’t cut any corners.

“What can I say; the O.S.D. has put the drivability back into the big tire bikes!
You have taken a lot of weight away and at the same time made the bike feel a whole lot better on the road. You are going to be saving money in the long run because there are fewer parts to wear out. It is one trick looking system…we start with a CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum cover that supports an offset front sprocket made from 8620 steel and it runs a single chain to the final drive sprocket. The cover is bolted to the engine case and the frame for strength and rigidity, it is bullet proof. You are going to get more horsepower to the rear wheel and the bike is going to feel more neutral in its handling.
We also make sure it is a true bolt-on kit!”

What sets Roaring Toyz apart from the rest of the pack is they are innovators always looking for better ways to do things. They have the knowledge and the tools to do it.
They could probably do some products in a cheaper manner, but would you want to ride a bike with cheap parts? If it says Roaring Toyz on it, you know you are getting an original, not a cheaper imitation.

So if you want to stand out in the crowd, the O.S.D. kit is the way to go. Not only will it look good, it will handle even better, so give the rest of the bikes a chance to catch up before you tell them you bought it at Roaring Toyz!

Motorcycles in Coamo, Puerto Rico

In February 2011 we got the chance to enjoy the annual party that centers around the San Blas Half Marathon in Coamo, Puerto Rico. According to our historical fact-checker, this was the 49th year of the race that’s inspired locals to have their own massive celebration of all things motorcycle at the same time. Why not, right?

All along the race route people have staked out their party spots so there’s literally not an open parking spot anywhere along the road where the race takes place. People camp out along the road to watch the race and the parade of all manner of machines that cruise the route at the same time. Jeeps, cars, motorcycles, you name it — they were all out in force!

We cruised around Puerto Rico in a Polaris RZR and saw more bikes than we could count. Cruisers, sportbikes, customs — they were everywhere. If you can make it to the 50th annual event its worth the trip!

Check out some pics we shot…
